Operative Steps for Small Ventral Hernia Repair Surgery with Dr. George Crawford
This video features Dr. George Crawford demonstrating his small abdominal hernia repair procedure. Small ventral hernias can be repaired by excising the hernia sac and closing the fascia with suture, without using a mesh. For small defects, sutures such as VICRYL Plus Antibacterial suture, PROLENE Polypropylene, or ETHIBOND EXCEL Polyester may be used to re-approximate the fascia. For larger defects, a suture passer technique may be utilized.
