The Houston Community College (HCC) started an Endoscopy Tech Training Program partnering with the Texas Medical Center and Greater Houston endoscopy programs, the first of its kind in Texas. The trainees learn theory at the HCC before they come for practical training. Here is an EMR assisted by the endoscopy tech trainee, who did all the steps under the supervision of a mentor. I am pleased to see how quickly the technicians are able to grasp the practical aspects of the procedure and perform well. Having an understanding of ""WHY"" in the classroom helps them learn ""HOW"" to perform the procedure smoothly and efficiently.
