“There are so many wonderful things to be thankful for. It is a different life when treatment is finished.” Linda Gallant survived breast cancer. During a self-examination two years ago, she discovered lumps. To better cope with the diagnosis, she decided to approach the disease like a project, naming her tumors so she could address her feelings directly.
Today she encourages women to get checked: "Don't put off self-exams, don't be afraid to get a mammogram."
