Right Oophorectomy Due to Ovarian Torsion
This Video is Level 2
This type of procedure should be performed under guided supervision. The surgeon should be assisted to become acquainted with operations involving advanced laparoscopic instruments and have further understanding of the complexities of all possible applications and dangers of electrical energy.
Case
The patient is a 45-year-old woman Gr1 P1, with a previous cesarian section delivery, who was diagnosed with a six-centimeter right ovarian cyst.
She opted for a right oophorectomy. However, she developed low abdominal pain the night before her procedure.
During laparoscopy, she had suffered right adnexal torsion. The ovary was still salvageable but due to her decision to undergo oophorectomy, a typical right adnexectomy was performed.
