Sweet's syndrome is also called acute febrile neutrophlic dermatosis. It is a rare condition causing painful and tender plaques and nodules on the face, neck and extremeties. it usually affects middle aged women. There is fever and a raised white cell count. Biopsy of the skin lesions show a heavy perivascular infiltrate of neutrophil polymorphs but no vasculitis.
