I was called in for a c-section procedure and I took the chance to record the sterile set-up to share it with and show you the instrumentation, supplies and equipment that we use during the surgery. I love scrubbing cesarean sections and being apart of that team welcoming new life into his world.

I took the opportunity before a “Total Hip Replacement” case to record the process of draping and registering the Stryker Mako Robotic Assisted Arm. Depending on doctor preference and training there could be a few differences in the instrumentation that’s used however this video can serve as an overview and guide to the steps and process of draping and registering. The Mako allows the surgeon to make more precise reamings and cuts and to provide an overall more predictable surgical experience.

Shoutout to my fellow Surgical Technologist and coworker Gee! My brother had a Craniotomy Tray open for a procedure and took the time to break down the instrumentation and supplies that he had on his back table. This newest video is a surgical set up for a “Mako Total Knee Replacement.” I was focused on getting the set up done so I wasn’t talking as much during this one so this is more of a demonstration of the surgical set up, sterile technique supplies and instrumentation that we use for our Mako Total Knee Replacement.
